12-time Grammy Award-winning artist Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds has signed a recording contract with Capitol records. The hitmaker is preparing for a new album featuring some of the best talent in R&B: Ari Lennox, Doechii, Ella Mai, Kehlani, and Queen Naija. Named “Girls’ Night Out,” the album is set to be released on October 29, 2022. Last month, Babyface and Ellai Mai performed their first live rendition of their collaboration “Keeps on Fallin” at the BET awards. The song will be part of the “Girls’ Night Out” album, according to Capitol.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to be signing to a legacy label like Capitol,” Babyface said. He added that the label has welcomed him with open arms and treated him like family. “And, in the end, that is what it’s all about – doing what you love with people who have the same love for music as you do.” He said he’s excited about the upcoming album. “The process for it reminded me of when I did Waiting to Exhale and I’m excited for the world to hear,” he added. “Babyface’s return to the studio is long overdue, and I couldn’t be happier that he’s chosen Capitol as the home for such a wonderful new album,” Michelle Jubelirer, chairperson and CEO of Capitol, said. “To hear his one-of-a-kind voice paired with some of music’s most impressive female artists is a joy that we can’t wait to share.”
