To accompany Motown’s 60th birthday celebration, the First Lady of Motown Claudette Robinson co-authored and released a children’s book in September, Claudette’s Miraculous Motown Adventure. The tale follows Claudette, who lives in the magical and musical kingdom of Motown.

An evil witch casts a spell over Motown, plunging it into a dark silence, but little Claudette finds a box of Miracles in her attic and, inside, she discovers four mini songbirds – Smokey, Bobby, Ronnie and Pete – and the five of them sing sweet music together, hoping to bring the joy back to Motown.

The longtime Miracles member and ex-wife to Smokey Robinson says she wanted to introduce a younger generation to her story and to the story of Motown. That Motown sound is important, she says, “not just to Detroit but to the entire world. It’s affected many other artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and so many others.”

Robinson has been traveling the country on her book tour, meeting small children and delighting them in the power of music. She says, “I tell them, ‘I still believe in miracles and I believe in dreams.’”

Claudette’s Miraculous Motown Adventure is available on Amazon.
