Detroit author releases children’s book of positive affirmations

A new children’s book celebrating positivity and inner peace from a local author is released this month, with the goal of investing more time into kids to create sustainable communities.

“Phenomenally Me” is the first release from Korene E.J. Smith, a Detroit native, military wife and mother of two. Per the book’s release, “Phenomenally Me” provides children with a foundation for positive self-talk and inner peace. It gives every child the tools speak to themselves with confidence and positivity, and gives parents the tools to give that same positivity to their children through positive affirmations.

“‘Phenomenally Me’ is meant to establish and sustain a strong inner voice in our youth,” Smith says on her website. “There is no set age, race or gender attached to this book. Read it to your child in the womb or your curious toddler. Give it to a grade schooler who is discovering who they are or a high school senior headed into the real world. It is for anyone who needs a positive word or a quick reminder of the greatness that lies within."

Smith will be holding a release party on Friday, Jan. 7 at the Jungle Juice Bar, 14929 Charlevoix St., in Grosse Pointe Park from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. For more information, click here.
