Maison Black is committed to providing a platform for emerging and established Black designers to launch, showcase and grow their businesses.

Through Maison Black’s curated online platform and capsule experiences, Black designers will have the opportunity to increase brand awareness and their customer base, while providing consumers a destination for discovery of black talent exemplifying design excellence.

I created Maison Black to build an ecosystem that fosters design excellence and creativity for Black designers.

To celebrate the launch and pay homage to the city that gave them the foundation, six featured
designers will present their seasonless collections in a runway presentation called “Manhattan to
Motown” in Detroit. Featured native Detroit designers include the talented and award-winning
APOTTS (Aaron Potts) and Kevan Hall, Isaiah Hemmingway, N’GAI (Nicole King), TRUTH
(Sharryl Cross) and S.MCGEE COLLECTION (Shawna McGee).

Following the runway presentation, the ā€œManhattan to Motownā€ designers and their collections will
be available for purchase at a three-day pop-up shopping experience on Thursday, October 21st
from 2pm to 6pm and Friday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd from 12pm to 6pm at
Shinola, 441 Canfield Street, Detroit, MI 48201.
