Four Michigan beers to try this fall

es, black people are part of the beer industry, too. Desiree Cooper delved into this topic in her Detroit Proper column this month.

“Black folks don’t celebrate suds. There’s hardly a mention of it in R&B or neo-soul – unlike country music, where it’s a staple. We drink beer, but our social lives aren’t built around it,” Cooper says.

If you’re looking to grab pint, here are four seasonal brews that are great to try this Fall.

1. Harvest Ale from Founders Brewing Company

This wet-hopped ale includes fresh citrus flavors and toasted malt undertones. The brew is a limited release available through the month of October.

2. Noble Chaos from Short’s Brewing Company

A German-style amber lager, Noble Chaos is subtly hoppy with toasted caramel malt flavors, making this beer “a taste of the fall season.”

3. Oktoberfest Beer from Motor City Brewing Works

This ruby-colored traditional Bavarian-style Marzen brew has spicy hops and smooth malts. The brew is available in their Midtown taproom through the end of October.

4. Dauntless from North Peak Brewing Company

Brewed as a salute to Germany’s annual Oktoberfest celebration, Dauntless is brewed with traditional Munich lager yeast, creating a smooth fall brew.
