Four things you could do if you’re not going to the Beyoncé concert

t may be a Tuesday night, but when Beyoncé is in town it’s practically a holiday. For those of us who couldn’t get our money right after her short-notice Super Bowl announcement, don’t put away your freakum dress just yet. Here are four events you can check out on #beyday (or, as the rest of the world will call it, June 14).

Sing Beyoncé karaoke all night long

Briggs Sports Bar will have their “Beyoncélicious” theme night, replete with her music videos flowing all night at the bar. You can grab a pint of one of their 22 draft beers and let out your inner Sasha Fierce on the karaoke mic.

519 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit

6 p.m.-2 a.m.

Sip and soul

Keep it low-key at Acoustic Soul Sexy Time at Thomas Magee’s Sporting House Whiskey Bar. Dimming the lights every week for this event, you can sip on a drink while enjoying the soulful music and vibes.

1408 E. Fisher Freeway., Detroit

9 p.m.-2 a.m.

Partner yoga and beer

If you’ve got a yoga mat and a limber pal, you can take part in this social yoga experience at the Loving Touch. Hosted by Renegade Yoga, this event is suitable for beginners and serious yogis, alike. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

22634 Woodward Ave., Ferndale

7 p.m.

Take in some jazz in the park

The Carr Center is hosting the Obed Succari Trio for a performance in Harmonie Park as part of the center’s summer concert series. Best part: It’s free. You can catch Carr Center events in the park through August.
