Usher Dishes on Divorce

ong day? Take a break to catch up on some of the latest news, gossip and scandals!

Two Sides to Every Story

Usher Raymond recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an exclusive interview regarding the custody battle with ex-wife Tameka Raymond. In the interview, he said this would be the first and last time he speaks on the subject. While Oprah asked the questions, I think she let him slide on the answers.

Watching the interview only made me more curious to hear what Tameka Raymond has to say. Well, the wait is over. In an exclusive three-part interview, “Entertainment Tonight” will get Tameka's side of the story.  Let's hope they ask her all the right questions and add questions when the answer needs more clarity.

A Dream Deferred

Brian Banks is signing with the LasVegas Locomotives of the United Football League. You might ask, "who is Brian Banks and what’s the big deal?"

Banks was a top football player in high school. His skills earned him a full scholarship for college. A dream come true for any high school athlete. A dream that was deferred when he was convicted on rape and kidnapping charges.

From the beginning, Banks claimed his innocence on the charges, but at the advice of his lawyer, he took a plea deal. Bad move-Banks was sentenced to serve more than five years in prison. While in prison, he kept himself in shape and never lost sight of being a professional football player. Upon his release, his accuser reached out to him on Facebook. Yeah-she said she wanted to “let bygones be bygones.”  WTH

Well, Banks met with his accuser and got her confession of lies on tape. Thanks to that tape, Banks has been cleared. While he can’t get those wasted prison years back, he was able to get his football dream back on track.

Banks was given the opportunity to tryout for several NFL teams. He wasn’t picked up by the Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins or Seattle Seahawks this time around but, he will be coached by a former NFL head coach Marty Schottenheimer as a member of the Las Vegas Locomotives. This is just a start for Banks.

Go Taraji

In a world where celebrities are spoiling their kids rotten, Taraji P. Henson is doing something different.

Taraji was recently on the “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” show and she talked about teaching responsibility. We all know you don't really appreciate things that you don't work and sacrifice for. Taraji's son was accepted to college but he will be sitting the first semester out.

Why? She thinks it is important that he realizes how difficult it is to earn money. "I need him to see how real it is out here. It builds character," she said. "I told him, ‘College is like an investment. I’m investing my money in your future and if I feel like you’re a bad investment, I’m taking my money back."

Taraji could teach a lot to these other celebrities who dole the world on their kids and you see what that gets them. All I can say is that I haven't seen anything negative about Taraji's son in any tabloids  or gossip show segments.

Go Taraji!
