Where to shop on independent bookstore day

n April 30, Independent Bookstore Day will hit over 400 shops around the country for the second year. Participating book stores will offer new books and other exclusive merchandise this weekend. Independent bookstore day aims to celebrate these stores, not only as places to shop, but as a community spaces. Though there are only a few local venues officially participating, you can still get in the spirit by planning a trip to your favorite local book shop, or discovering a new one from our list of Detroit-area bookstores below.
