Detroit is known for many things: cars, music and food. But, Detroit has more to offer than meets the eye. Over the last few years, Detroit has taken health and wellness to a new level. Fitness studios are popping up left and right, and it seems that Detroiters are dedicated to taking care of the most important thing: their body.

Here at BLAC we are always looking to spotlight trailblazers, innovators and, most importantly, industry leaders. We have noted five Detroit fitness industry leaders you should look out for the next time you are looking for a good workout.

They offer boxing, high intensity interval training (HIIT), weight lifting, boot camps, yoga and more!, @jabsgym

Joe Robinson and Lance Woods from WeRun313 began their movement with a love for running and community, and, since 2019, they have grown into one of the largest run clubs in Michigan. The club is not only for running, it’s also for networking and building relationships. The group is filled with entrepreneurs, artists, and young professionals; the run group instills confidence and a love for running in the Black community. They offer three group run options a week: Two-Mile Tuesdays, 5k/10k Thursdays, and Sunday Long Run. They run collectively in races across the state and curate community events. @werun313
