Detroit native Asia Rawls is an inspiration, and ASICS has recognized it.

Asia was selected as one of the Sound Mind, Sound Body ambassadors because she embodies ASICS’ philosophy of a “Sound Mind is a Sound Body” through her work in the Detroit community.

ASICS announced their Sound Mind, Sound Body ambassador campaign for 2023. Throughout the year, ASICS will release unique content highlighting each new ambassador and the ways they embody the Sound Mind, Sound Body philosophy in their daily lives by working with their organizations and giving back to their local communities.

Asia has always believed in the power running has on your body and mind—especially as a Division 1 NCAA qualifier & record holder from Eastern Michigan University. She was also a previous coach with the University of Detroit Mercy where she later received her MBA and M.S. in Computer Information Systems.

Currently, Asia serves as a leader in her community and as the owner and founder of Machine Athletics, LLC where she specializes in elite knowledge of sprints, strength, speed & long distance. She is also the women’s assistant track coach at Cass Technical High School and volunteers as a Track Coach for WeRun313, a diverse Running Community with over 1,800 participants in Detroit, MI. In her spare time, Asia prepares healthy plant-based meals and services for local Detroit residents.
