Here’s how you can help decide what could happen with Northland

ith Northland Center’s closing just over a year ago and the City of Southfield’s purchase of the land, the community has speculated about the city’s plans for former shopping mall.

Now, the city of Southfield is inviting the community to voice their opinions about the future of Northland Center redevelopment in an open community meeting. Representatives from OHM Advisors, the firm selected to plan out the space, will be at the meeting to hear the community input and to present their latest plans.

This is the second public meeting this summer regarding the new Northland development. In previous meetings, they’ve had the community vote on features and amenities like walking and biking trails, vendor space and natural water features.

The upcoming meeting is set for August 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Southfield Public Library, but if you can’t make it, you can contribute ideas online at imaginenorthland.com.
