For more than a decade, we have listened as financial experts  shared their opinion on cryptocurrencies as volatile, risky investments. As quickly as one reaches a new high, it could go back down.

But one cryptocurrency is standing out stronger than the rest as the year comes to a capricious close. Crypto.com, a cryptocurrency exchange platform, inked a deal to purchase the naming rights to the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, home to the Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Sparks.

Crypto.com, has seen substantial growth in a relatively short period of time. The platform launched in 2016 and surpassed 1 million users in September 2019. Now with more than 10 million users,  CRYPTOCOM price hits a new high as the digital asset exchange company completes an aggressive $1 Billion global sports entertainment investment campaign in 2021.

“If I had to pick one place to have naming rights, it would be Staples Center,” said Kris Marszalek, Crypto.com’s chief executive officer, in an interview. “This is in line with our ambition to be a top brand in the coming years, next to Nike and Apple.

After the deal was announced, Crypto.com’s coin, called CRO, rallied gaining an impressive 24% in 24 hours  cracking the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market value. CRO is now ranked No. 18, according to CoinGecko.
