“Break My Soul” just hit the 7th spot on the Billboard’s Hot 100 list. This makes Beyoncé a member of exclusive club of 23 musicians to ever list 20 songs in the top 10 of the Hot 100. “Break My Solo” is the pop icon’s latest single, teaming with Big Freedia from her upcoming album “Renaissance.” It debuted at the 15th spot in the Hot 100 last week. As part of Destiny’s Child, the queen recorded 10 entries for the record, including the songs “Say My Name” and “Bootylicious.” Hitting the record this year also holds special place in Beyoncé’s career as December 2022 marks her 20th anniversary since she first scored the top 10 of the Billboard’s Hot 100 with Jay Z’s song “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” where she was featured.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving,” Beyoncé wrote on an Instagram post announcing the album “Renaissance.” She added that her intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment, a place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking, a place to scream, release, feel freedom. “It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are,” her post continued.

In July 2022, Beyoncé was profiled for the British Vogue’s cover. “Instantly, a wall of sound hits me. Soaring vocals and fierce beats combine and in a split second I’m transported back to the clubs of my youth. I want to get up and start throwing moves,” the magazine described her upcoming album when the pop star offered a preview of its songs before release. “It’s music I love to my core. Music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul.”
