Detroit-bred travel blogger launches new talk series

fter a career in pharmaceutical sales, Detroit native Jessica Nabongo was eager for something more. She eventually made the leap to move to Japan and further her travels. Throughout her life, Nabongo has traveled to 66 countries, and she’s not done yet.

Nabongo has shared her globe-trotting experiences on her blog “Catch Me If You Can“, and she eventually launched a boutique travel firm called Jet Black where she helps her clients — one of which includes rapper J. Cole — shape the trip of their dreams in the African diaspora.

Nabongo will be bringing her travel experiences to life with a series of talks, launching the first one in her hometown.

“I’m thrilled to share my journey in a city that means so much to me,” Nabongo says. “I hope to inspire people to never give up on their daydreams and get out and see life through a different cultural lens.”

In addition to discussing her life and travels, the talk will also cover topics such as traveling abroad on a budget, creating the life you want, entrepreneurship and exploring wines from all over the world.
