Detroit entrepreneur wins Centric reality show ‘Queen Boss’

etroit entrepreneur Nailah Ellis-Brown, founder and CEO of Ellis Infinity Beverage Company — the makers of Ellis Island Teas — was selected as the winner of the first season of Centric TV reality show Queen Boss.

Ellis-Brown competed against 17 other black businesswomen and was judged weekly by a host of celebrity judges, including Vanessa Simmons, co-owner of Pastry sShoes and Rev Run’s daughter, Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss, who also owns an adult toy company Bedroom Kandi, lawyer and TV personality (and Detroit native) Lauren Lake and Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price.

Ellis-Brown, whose company brews and bottles hibiscus tea in a 4,000 square foot facility in Detroit, won a $25,000 cash prize in addition to the “queen boss” title.
