Detroit’s next leather leader

etroit’s C’Erra E. is the she-ro of DIY, starting her own leather goods brand right here in the city: Anthony Neil.

After years of working in social work, C’Erra says she was losing her mind and in need of fulfillment. “I’m not doing anything if I’m not creating. My hands are useless if I’m not making something,” she says.

She left the field and became an assistant stylist for the now-defunct Detroit fashion magazine StyleLine. Then she began working with other stylists, including ones who have dressed the likes of Janelle Monáe and Bradley Cooper.

When C’Erra taught herself leatherwork and took courses like industrial sewing at Henry Ford College, she laid the foundation for Anthony Neil. With edgy creations such as the Jackie Clutch or her Demi Tassel, she wants women to “journey courageously to a fulfilled life” with an Anthony Neil by their side.
