Erebus Brand Opens Escape Room in Pontiac

Erebus Escape

If you’re planning to try out the new Erebus Escape in downtown Pontiac, you can leave the extra pair of undies at home. Ed and James Terebus, brothers and co-owners of the Erebus horror brand, promise that Erebus Escape offers “all the fun, with none of the fear.” That is, as long as you’re not deathly afraid of whodunits.

Erebus’ most recent attraction is a collection of escape room puzzles, with all the detail and atmosphere of the infamous haunted house but none of the fright. Visitors choose a themed room and are given the objective to – you guessed it – escape a room by solving puzzles and riddles in 60 minutes.

The themes are widely varied so everyone can pick their poison. Sci-fi fans can race against the clock and a deadly alien disease in Northstar Labs while mythology junkies work to free a vengeful god in Eye of Horus.

“I went a few weeks ago and got to take a look at the new Body of Evidence room,” says visitor Devin Grant. He says Erebus never fails to please. “The production alone is worth the price of admission. Some of the props used looked like they came right out of a movie set.”

It costs $28 to reserve a session and all ages are welcome to play. Right now, only the Body of Evidence and Lockdown rooms are finished, but they say the others are coming soon. I just might be spending my 21st birthday hunting down King Arthur’s Excalibur in Thrones, Order of Succession.
