If You’re Looking for an Anime-zing Time, Youmacon is the Place to Be

oumacon is one of the largest comic con-esque conventions around and spans four dates (Nov.2-5). But instead of comic books, it’s a deafening shoutout to Japanese culture and its influence on American society.

You may be inclined to file this under "Not For Us," but you’d be hasty with your paperwork. Each year, a slew of black youngsters show up for the annual event, including Yvonne Burrell, who’s attended the last four. She calls the atmosphere "very energetic, very friendly and very diverse."

Will she cosplay? You bet your pink wig she will. Teen Titans’ Starfire is her inspiration this year.
